The rumors have been put to rest. Celebrated screen goddess and media personality, Nana Ama McBrown, has officially confirmed that her marriage to former manager Maxwell Mensah has ended.

In a candid and emotional interview aired on TV3 on December 17, 2025, the “Empress” of Ghanaian television revealed that she and Maxwell have actually been separated for the past two years.

Surprisingly, she described this period of singleness as the happiest time of her life.

Finding Strength in Solitude

McBrown, who has recently battled public health challenges, explained that overcoming both her marital breakdown and her physical ailments has forged a new sense of resilience in her.

“I’m happy because I’ve been able to overcome them. I’m over it. I’m a happy woman. I believe I’m the strongest. I want to tell everybody that divorce should never be the end. If you overcome health issues, that means God has saved you.”

She emphasized that while money is powerful, it cannot buy health, making her recovery and current state of mind even more precious.

A “Beautiful” Separation

Addressing the stigma often attached to failed marriages in the public eye, McBrown remained unapologetic. She admitted that the process was a “rollercoaster,” but expressed pride in how she handled the exit.

● No Shame: “Yes, I’m divorced, and I’m not ashamed to say it, but I did it so beautifully.”

● No Bitterness: Unlike many celebrity breakups that turn toxic, McBrown insists she and Maxwell opted for maturity over drama.

Co-Parenting and Friendship

Perhaps the most shocking revelation for fans was the current nature of her relationship with Maxwell.

Despite the divorce, McBrown insists they remain “the best of friends” and are actively co-parenting their daughter, Baby Maxin.

“My husband and I are cool,” she assured viewers. “We spoke yesterday, we speak today, we’ll speak tomorrow. We meet, I go to our house, my in-laws, and everything.”

She described the decision to split as a mutual agreement born out of exhaustion rather than animosity.

“We didn’t go through it like the bitter ones. I was tired, and he was tired. We sat down and said, let’s talk about it. If we don’t meet again, the precious thing you’ve given me is my daughter. You can have the wealth, and I can have her, and I can live forever.”

McBrown’s revelation marks the end of an era for one of Ghana’s most talked-about couples, but it appears to be the beginning of a liberated and peaceful chapter for the actress.
