Wontumi said he does not want his personal situation to become extra trouble for the NPP, especially at a time when the party is trying to rebuild after its election defeat.

Wontumi spoke about his long years of service to the NPP, saying he has worked hard for the party in every part of the country, through both good times and bad. He said the NPP means more to him than just a political party — he called it his family and his home.
