Ghana’s music industry continues to welcome new talents, and one emerging artiste hoping to make a strong impression is Precious Opoku, popularly known as Shotos.
With a passion for music spanning over ten years, Shotos is now taking his music career more seriously as he works towards establishing himself as a recognised name in Ghana’s competitive music scene.
Describing music as more than just entertainment, Shotos sees it as a powerful way of expressing emotions, telling stories and connecting with people. His musical style blends Afro-fusion, Afro-dancehall and Ghanaian street vibes, with a creative mix of English, Twi and Pidgin to give his songs a unique and relatable feel.

His music explores everyday experiences, including love, relationships, lifestyle, struggles and happiness. Among his personal favourite songs is “Fa Ma No”, which he describes as a special record for lovers of good music and meaningful rhythms.
Although he is still building his music catalogue, Shotos says his focus is on releasing quality songs that listeners can genuinely connect with rather than rushing to put out music.
He draws inspiration from established Ghanaian artistes such as Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Kwartengg and Sarkodie, admiring their originality, creativity and determination in building successful music brands.
Like many upcoming musicians, however, getting the right exposure and financial support remains one of his biggest challenges. He believes that talent alone is not enough to succeed in today’s music industry, as effective promotion, marketing, industry connections and the right opportunities also play important roles.
Despite these challenges, Shotos remains determined to push forward. He hopes to earn recognition at major award platforms such as the Telecel Ghana Music Awards and 3Music Awards. Beyond awards, his biggest dream is to take Ghanaian music to a wider international audience.

Looking ahead, he envisions himself becoming an established Ghanaian artiste within the next five years, performing on major stages, releasing successful projects and collaborating with both local and international musicians.
Shotos also believes Ghana’s music industry has enormous potential but needs stronger support systems, better promotional structures and more opportunities for emerging talents.
For now, his message to fans and music lovers is simple: keep supporting, streaming and sharing his music because the journey is only beginning.
With a distinct musical direction, big ambitions and a determination to succeed, Shotos is looking forward to his breakthrough moment.
Shotos to the world!
