Ghana’s fiercely competitive music industry is a fertile ground for new talent, and the latest captivating voice emerging from the Ashanti Region is Starboi TY.
Known offstage as Felix Sarfo Berchie, this budding artist from Kumasi is rapidly capturing the attention of music lovers both regionally and beyond.
Starboi TY’s musical foundation was laid early, having grown up singing in church. However, his active journey into professional music began in 2018.

What sets Starboi TY apart is his remarkable versatility. He refuses to be confined to a single genre, effortlessly jumping between Afrobeats, Afropop, Dancehall, Amapiano, and Trap music, showcasing a dynamic skill set that appeals to a wide audience.
With nine singles already under his belt, Starboi TY is actively promoting his latest release, “Krokro Me,” across various media platforms nationwide.

His creative style draws inspiration from some of the continent’s biggest names, including Ghanaian giants like Mugeez and Sarkodie, as well as the internationally recognized sounds of Fuse ODG and Nigeria’s Mr Eazi.
Despite his talent, the “Away” singer shares a common struggle with many of Ghana’s emerging artists: securing the necessary resources for growth. His primary challenge over his seven years in music has been the difficulty in funding the promotion and marketing of his work, alongside the crucial task of building a solid brand.

He also points to the sub-optimal structure of the music industry itself as a barrier, suggesting it hinders the easy breakthrough of promising new talents like him.

Based in Tafo, Starboi TY is intensely focused on his future. Over the next five years, he hopes to exponentially grow his talent and brand, aiming to consistently create music that is both meaningful and authentic, resonating with listeners on a deeper level.
With optimism defining his outlook, Starboi TY is confident about his place in the industry. He calls upon fans and industry gatekeepers alike for the support needed to propel his sound from Kumasi to the rest of the world.
