In a significant move to combat rising food insecurity, the Richard Nii Armah Quaye (RNAQ) Foundation has officially extended its operations to the Ashanti Region, commissioning four new food banks within the Kumasi Metropolis.
The initiative, aimed at vulnerable members of the public, guarantees free daily meals for the next 12 months. The newly inaugurated branches are strategically located to serve high-density areas:
• Bantama
• Asafo Labour
• Anloga
• Allabah
To streamline distribution and ensure accountability, the Foundation has announced that beneficiaries only need to present a valid Ghana Card to access the daily meals.
During the launch ceremony, Mr. Richard Nii Armah Quaye, President of the Foundation, pledged a consistent supply of food and water to all four branches. He offered special thanks to the Bantamahene, Nana Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI, for providing the facility to house the Bantama branch.

Speaking on behalf of the city, the Bantamahene lauded the project as a “timely intervention” for struggling families. He urged residents to maintain order at the facilities to ensure the program runs smoothly.
This expansion follows the RNAQ Foundation’s successful pilot in the Greater Accra Region, where it currently operates five food banks in Ashaiman, Kasoa, Korle-Gonnor, Madina, and Odorkor.
