The passing out ceremony for the third and final cohort of the Community Medical First Responders (CMFRS), a partnership between the National Ambulance Service (NAS) and the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), is slated for November 21, 2025.
The main event will take place at the Paramedic and Emergency Care Training School in Nkenkaasu in the Ashanti Region, with simultaneous ceremonies scheduled at all other training centers across the country.
This ceremony marks the conclusion of a two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NAS and YEA, which aimed to recruit 6,000 young Ghanaians as Community Medical First Responders nationwide.
The initiative is a strategic effort to create jobs while significantly strengthening Ghana’s emergency response capacity within communities.
The collaboration is critically important, providing much-needed manpower support to bolster the NAS’s emergency response capabilities.
The partnership is expected to play a vital role in bridging the gap between the occurrence of emergency incidents and the timely arrival of ambulances on the scene, thereby enhancing the overall emergency response health care delivery in Ghana.
